Each glyph comes with a range of values that it can improve a stat by according to the item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use it to enchant an Artifact. This range is not the actual amount at the glyph can increase a stat, but the maximum amount it can increase a stat. The value of the glyph depends on the tier as well as the quality of the item that you are enchanting.
The majority of upgrade components that are added to items cannot be removed or replaced without removing them except for legendary upgrades and equipment. If you have a rune or glyph you do not want to use, but it hasn't been applied to gear yet, you can move the item to a different piece by selecting the Upgrade Glyphs menu within the Glyphs Panel. This is helpful for players who are taking a lot of damage from enemies, but do not want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens are used to alter the affixes that are placed on weapons and equipment. They can be obtained from many sources, such as mysterious boxes or rare drops from skulled monsters, or by killing bosses. Each reroll gives the player a random affix that is usually better than what they had prior to. Reroll tokens can also be used to improve the weapon's stats to increase damage or bonuses.
Rerolled items are not listed on the menu for upgrade options, however they can be upgraded. Rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button that alters the layout of the item window and allows up to six items to recycle. The level gauge is boosted by recycling an item. The amount is determined based on the item's rarity and also its level. Therefore, items that are higher level are more valuable to recycle than items with lower levels.

The iLevel can also change depending on the item's upgrade path and its base level. For example an item that has been upgraded from a rare or exclusive item to an exceptional item will be able to gain the enhanced defense of the new base item type.
